About Placenta Glow
Hi there, my name is Sarah-Louise and I am busy Mum of 4 kids, 3 boys and a 1 girl and founder of Placenta Glow.
I am a certified Placenta remedies specialist based in Waterford but I work with clients based across all of the South-East. Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Cork Hospitals and Home births.
My Journey to this career started in 2018 after the birth of my second Son Oscar. In the hazy first few weeks of caring for a new born I was scrolling through my phone in the middle of the night and I came across an article about a Mum who had her placenta made into pills after her baby was born. I was so intrigued and although it was too late to do it for this baby, I was adamant I wanted to do it for the next.
After doing some research I found there were no specialists in my area. It just seemed so natural for me to train and offer the service myself. I am so passionate about pregnancy and birth and in particular looking after a new mum in those first few weeks.
In early 2019 I contacted an organisation in the UK called IPEN and completed my training with them. I made a brave decision to leave my corporate banking career and set up my business, Placenta Encapsulation Waterford. For two years I have been privileged to be a part of many Mothers pregnancy and birth journeys and to receive such positive feedback. This year (2021), I made the decision to rebrand the business. The name change was so important to me. Placenta Glow seemed like the perfect choice because the placenta capsules really do help Mums feel good and maintain that lovely pregnancy glow. I have also added more products and services offerings for Clients such as Oils, creams and balms and some personalised keepsake options.
Also new this year is my dedicated placenta processing studio! I am beyond excited to share this with you. It has been my dream since I trained as a specialist to have a proper purpose built facility for preparing placenta remedies and now with Covid 19, it is even more important to ensure that my clients feel comfortable with where their placenta is being handled. Each time I prepare remedies, it is cleaned and sanitised to the highest level using all medical grade cleaning products. I follow a strict protocol to ensure your health and safety and only ever process one placenta at a time.
